Shiny Happy People are a UK based R.E.M. tribute band who, like the original band from Athens GA, are a four piece outfit faithfully recreating the songs of Berry, Buck, Mills and Stipe.

Formed in mid-2009 with a wealth of professional music experience including hundreds of live shows, BBC recording sessions, major summer festivals and television appearances, these individuals entertain on all kinds of level/stage - from private parties to headlining at outdoor events.

Shiny Happy People are without doubt the most authentic sounding R.E.M. tribute band around, giving audiences the best of R.E.M. and a real show to remember!

It’s Been a Bad Day for Fans of R.E.M.

After 31 years of being one of the most successful and influential rock bands in the world, R.E.M. have decided to call it a day. The sad news was announced earlier today on the band’s official website, remhq.com.

It’s a sad day for R.E.M. fans, but fear not – Shiny Happy People are here to stay! We’ve already begun to book gig dates for 2012 as well as the remainder of 2011 so there’ll be no shortage of live R.E.M. music. Stay tuned for more updates, gig dates and more.
